The fact that we were able to get a room on the second floor, it was great for older people who can not climb stairs very well.Everything was in order and if you have to ask for anything the staff was right there to help.Traveler fromPort Angeles WAshington;
The Hotel needs an exaust fan in the bathroom, other wise it was fine; The Traveling first time visitor;
We were greeted by Jan. He said it's pronounced like Yawn. But I can assure you, this young man was wide awake and very friendly and helpful. We loved the room. All we wanted was a clean, comfortable place to spend the night before flying out the next morning. We had been staying at the Coeur d'Alene Resort. Very spendy and we couldn't afford another night. So we took a chance on the ghi and were not disappointed. Old place. Comfortable place. Clean place. Good place.
Ok. So. They do still have smoking rooms and I must say, there was no mistaking the smell. It tends to permeate the entire building. In fact, you can actually smell it from outside as you walk across the parking lot to the nearby restaurant.
Room was clean
Curtains let outside light in from the parking lot lights
THe hotel was clean, convenient and quiet. Surprised with the truck stop next door!
Could use better pillows!
It was close to I-90.
Please upgrade your mattresses. They are horrible. The reason I am filling out this survey is to let you know that you need to care more about the quality of the beds.....also, even when a hotel room is inexpensive, you need to care about repairing the damage that occurs inside the hotel room. The walls had chucks of paint & sheetrock missing and a bit of repair work would have done wonders for the overall appearance of the room. But since the bed was so bad, that was enough right there to keep me from choosing the "Guesthouse Inn" in the future. A good bed when you're tired and need a good night's sleep is critical. Thank you.
It was in a convenient location; it was very clean; the beds were comfortable and it was very quiet. We had trouble with the cardlock on our door (battery died) the last night we were there and we had to use a hanger hook to get in. The woman on the desk who let us in was extremely helpful and pleasant. Thanks go to her!!
Let me start by saying that we choose a very basic hotel, that we knew we would only use for sleeping and showering, and that's what we got. We were there to spend the w/end with our family who were camping down on Blackwell Island. Normally we would choose a place with a nicer breakfast and larger breakfast room, some landscaping and a few amenities, such as an elevator! The GuestHouse is very basic but, for this trip, the price was right and it suited our needs.
The GuestHouse Inn was a reasonably priced hotel well situated for some things that we wanted/needed to do in Coeur D'Alene.
Nothing exceptional, but also no particular problems. This was just a stop along the way on a trip in the western U.S. and Canada. I would recommend the hotel who was looking for a convenient overnight.

Good location, but not much else. The beds were ok and the breakfast was less than thrilling. It wasn't much of a deal, but the best we could get for a summer weekend.
Not much special about it, but safe and clean.
Location for where our kids were
it needs updated
Quick & easy to find - Price was great! Just needed a bed to sleep in before the cd'a Marathon - it was a perfect room with comfortable beds!
Mapquest didn't give right directions!
Excellent location, clean / quiet room. Fridge and microwave were provided. Window could be opened to allow in fresh / cool air. Plenty of hot water in the shower. The staff were polite and helpful.
Carol at the front desk was very nice and friendly. I was allowed to have my dog there for a small fee. The hotel was clean, older, but clean. I did stay on the floor that had smoking on the other end, so the hallway smelled of cigarette smoke but inside the room it was okay. The bed was comfortable. The hotel was just right for what I needed it to be; a clean place to stop for the night. The breakfast choices were good also.
The cigarette smell wasn't all that great. It is close to a gas station / highway so the noise is a little loud. I just turned on the room air conditioner to drown out the noise.
The staff was wonderful. The service was like a fancy resort and a cozy "mom and pi" all in a value price. The front desk was helpful and the cleaning staff were friendly. Best customer service we have experienced in a long time. We are sure to stay here again for next years event.
The matress wasn't great.
The front desk girls were very nice. The hotel is very run down and the smell of cigarettes is strong. The sheets were clean but we were put in an animal friendly room which is fine if you are traveling with pets. The floors are stained and all around dirty.
